Two gifts fail silently every quarter
The first is the generic drinkware set everyone already owns three of. The second is anything overtly branded to the point of embarrassment in front of that person's family or colleagues.
Useful > impressive > loud
Useful – it solves a small, real, recurring problem for the recipient. A high-quality travel accessory, a proper kitchen tool, a nice desk accessory.
Impressive – the quality of the item and its packaging signal care. A $35 well-made notebook beats an $80 gadget nobody asked for.
Loud – one clear mark, in one position, applied in a finish that matches the product. Any more decoration and the gift starts looking like a tradeshow handout.
Seasonality and timing matter
Holiday delivery windows compress every year. Confirm the timing, the supplier ship date and the destination climate before approving a gift programme, especially if you are shipping perishables, leather goods or anything temperature-sensitive.
Write the card
A short, specific, signed note inside the box is the difference between a thoughtful gift and a purchased item in the mail.
